Course Overview

This course offers the basic knowledge of social psychology and its theoretical aspects. In addition, through the discussion of diverse socio-psychological topics, this course enhances our explanations about social problems through improving the social cognition as well as social perception of our everyday lives.

Course Objectives

The course will help students to advance their understanding and knowledge in:

·       Various types of social situation and cultural differences in social cognition

·       Culture and social perception, and links between urban and rural culture

·       Situational determinants of pro-social behaviour

·       Social situations and aggression in reference to gender 

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

At the end of the course the students will be able to:

·       Understand the various types of social situations from socio-psychological aspects;

·       Demonstrate complex social problems;

·       Demonstrate the importance of the knowledge of social psychology with urban and rural planning while initiating and executing any kind of plans;

·       Identify and comply our everyday issues critically and make commentary on those issues in reference with their own personal experiences.
