URP 4292: Professional Attachment

Employers require that graduates have knowledge and skills that will enable them to cope more readily with the demands of the workplace today. Key skills or employ-ability skills therefore need to be taken seriously within degree programmes. Therefore, the main purpose of this Professional Attachment course is to familiarise students with practical and field based problems and planning initiatives concerning urban and rural areas of Bangladesh.

Course Objectives

It is expected that upon completion of the course student will understand professional planning practices in public and private organisations and also learn how planning and development programmes and projects are being implemented in the field.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

After completing the course students are expected to be able to:

·       Show interest to work in organisations;

·       Adjust personal and key skills in an organisational environment;

·       Arrange intellectual skills;

·       Build up personal attributes;

·       Establish network for future employment opportunities;

·       Develop personal development plan for future employability.
