URP 4251: Legal Aspects and Ethics of Planning

Course Overview

The course is designed for the fourth year students of Urban and Rural Planning Discipline. Students of this course are expected to learn and understand the issues related to legal aspects of planning required for plan making process and implementation.

Course Objectives

It is expected that upon completion of the course student will learn the relevant rules and regulations for plan preparation and implementation in Bangladesh.

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

 After completing the course students are expected to be able to:

·       Understand the basic laws related to building construction, preparation of master plan and designing different service provisions;

·       Identify the laws and statutes related to urban planning and apply different planning laws in planning and development control.
