Course Overview

This course will be conducted simultaneously with its theoretical counterpart URP 3261. Students of this course are expected to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge from URP 3261.

Course Objectives

This is a practical, hands-on course fully supported by its theoretical concept. This course is aimed at making the students proficient in using software related to remote sensing and aerial photography using theoretical knowledge acquired from URP3261.The learning objectives of this course are as follows:

·       Processing aerial photographs and satellite imagery for further processing

·       Demonstrating proficiency in extracting information from both aerial photos and satellite imagery

·       Achieving skills to use stereo images for map preparation

·       Gaining knowledge to classify images and prepare maps

Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs)

After completion of this course, it is expected that the students will be able to:

·       Develop proper process of preparing and extracting different kinds of information and maps;

·       Operate computer software related to remote sensing.
